Prototyping!


For this week my goal was to create a level where I can test Mosblobo's movement capabilities. I wanted to create an environment full of the obstacles mosblobo needs to overcome so that I can test them as quickly as possible while tweaking mosblobo's speed, jump height, etc. I was hoping to get blob jumping implemented so that I could test all of that, but Mosblobo has some serious basic platforming issues that need to be addressed before moving on. I want to have moving platforms in my game, and getting Mosblobo to interact with them properly involves parenting and unparenting him from moving platforms. He's great at finding his parents, but he's having troubles with the unparenting part of that. I'd like to get Mosblobo's fundamentals worked out before I start getting fancy with him so I don't run into major issues later on. 

I was feeling a little frustrated with the lack of progress on the movement front, so I decided to work on audio stuff instead. I successfully integrated WWISE into the project and am using it to control footsteps, Mosblobo's jump sound, and the background music. I'm pretty happy with where the song I have is at overall, but I wish it didn't lose its "quirkiness" in the latter half of the song. I'll probably experiment with adding silly percussion sounds to the last half of the song while keeping the relatively normal melody.
